Don’t Touch That Dial

I speak
in the silence
you ignore.

Words
eaten by
dragonflies.

They fill
the cavity
of my chest
where a heart
should be.

I speak
in the loud hiss
of static before
radio broadcast
is reached.

Listen hard,
don’t change
the channel.

You might hear
what I’m trying
to say.
